1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using TickerNotes ("the App"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

TickerNotes is a personal portfolio tracking application that allows users to:

• Track securities (stocks, ETFs, mutual funds) they own or are interested in
• Add notes and purchase information about their holdings
• Import portfolio data from broker statements (CSV and PDF formats)
• Optionally sync data across devices using Google Drive

3. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your data
• All activities that occur under your Google account if using sync features
• The accuracy of information you enter into the App
• Making your own investment decisions - this App is for tracking only

4. No Investment Advice

IMPORTANT: TickerNotes is a portfolio tracking tool only. It does not provide investment advice, recommendations, or financial planning services. All investment decisions are your sole responsibility. Consult with a licensed financial advisor for investment advice.

5. Data Storage

TickerNotes stores all data locally in your browser using IndexedDB. If you enable Google Drive sync:

• Your data is stored in your private Google Drive appDataFolder
• Only you can access this data through the App
• The data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS)
• You can disconnect and delete synced data at any time

6. No Warranties

The App is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
• Data will be accurate, complete, or current
• The App will meet your specific requirements
• Sync features will always work as expected

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TickerNotes and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use or inability to use the App, including but not limited to:

• Loss of data or investment information
• Investment losses or missed opportunities
• Service interruptions or data corruption

8. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services including:

• Google Drive API for optional cloud sync
• Bootstrap and Alpine.js for UI framework
• PDF.js for PDF parsing

Use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. To completely remove all data:

• Clear your browser's IndexedDB storage for tickernotes.app
• Disconnect and revoke Google Drive access if enabled
